The snow
has cleared, the weather is milder & the feel good factor has started to
return after the highlights and celebrations of Christmas and the New Year.
At the
beginning of the year we put so much pressure on ourselves to set goals, lose
weight or find that special person that when we don’t feel motivated enough to
keep them up, we feel disheartened and are our own worst enemies.
One way to
overcome this might be to view January as being our well-deserved month off! A time for us to take care of ourselves, be
self-indulgent, watch our favourite movies with a box of chocolates to hand,
and to just be happy “living and appreciating the now” rather than “striving to
do”. Then towards the end of the month
we will begin to feel like a bear coming out of hibernation, recharged,
revitalized and ready to embrace life and what lies ahead.
In
February, aside from the constant bombarding from advertising tools that
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching - which is great if you already have a
partner but not always the case if you don’t - we can relax, reflect on the
highs and lows from the previous year and begin where we left off.

February
might then be the right time to focus more clearly on what you would `like to
do` or `no longer continue to do’ for the rest of the year. It could be as simple as empowering yourself
to say “no” to things you don’t really want to do just because it is the easier
option, by being more courageous and finding your voice. Or taking up a new hobby or sport so that you
create the opportunity to improve your skills and also meet new people.
Unlike
other lifestyle services, gyms or weight loss clubs who push their clients to
make changes in the first week of January. We believe there is so much pressure
on an individual that it not sustainable. At Chrysalis Studios we adopt a different
approach and give our clients time for reflection and prefer to start with new
routines and changes in February.
Whatever
you decide to do and when is up to you, but if you continue to do the same
things you will get the same results so taking the first steps towards change
is where it all begins…….
